The Final Reveal!

Today is the day! I'm so excited to show all of you lovely readers the final reveal of my daughter's bathroom makeover! Forgive me for the quality of the pictures, its rather difficult to fit into the bathroom to take pictures and the lightning is less than ideal. Adding a pop of color just makes this bathroom so much more fun. So without further ado, here is the rundown...

I would say about 10% of the bathroom was purchased and the rest was reworked with what I had on hand. I bought a plain pink shower curtain at Bed Bath and Beyond and used Amy Butler fabric I had purchased to sew the ruffles. What a fun print right?! It was my inspiration for the entire bathroom. :)

I also added some lace in between the ruffles for some interest. I was kind of excited with the way it turned out. The cost of a shower curtain with just an Amy Butler print on it at Bed Bath and Beyond was around $45! Are you kidding me!? I made this one for around $35 and I customized it with ruffles. Biggest splurge in the bathroom, but well worth it! :)
Please excuse the toliet in this picture. ;)
Some closeups of the ruffles. I cut 2 1/2 inch stripes of fabric, did a zig zag stitch on both edges and ruffled by pushing my strip through the sewing machine faster than it could sew to create pleats.
I made these fabric rosette shower curtain hooks by painting some plain round ones I already had blue and hot gluing the rosettes on them I made with leftover fabric.
The frames on the wall above the toilet are meant to offset the random towel bar in between the toilet and sink. I painted the frames and shabbied them up with some fun colors. They looked like this before...
This is what they looked like after I painted them...

My sweet friend Stephanie gave me these adorable soaps that fit into the theme perfectly! I just love them! They make the bathroom smell good too!

Using a trash can I already had, I printed out "TRASH" in pink vinyl and stuck it right on that baby! A simple facelift, I think made a big difference. :)

I made the "bonjour" sign by taking a cheesy shabby chic "welcome" sign I bought at JoAnns for like $3, painting it white, then blue and vinyl stenciling "bonjour" in pink. I roughed it up a bit with sand paper and voila...a sign that cost me nothing! :)
I spray painted this little birdie blue and added some green polka dots.

Phew! I'm pretty happy with how it all turned out and the most important thing is that E is pleased with it. Her reaction was: "oooohh I love it!" so I guess I did alright. :)

Happy Crafting! :)
