Romantic Homes Feature

When I was very little, we always had a stack of Romantic Homes magazines in the bathroom. I would sit and pretend to read them while I was on the "big girl potty." As I got older, I would sneak them into my room and to read them and dream of making my home just like the ones that filled its pages. I loved the romantic, feminine decorating style that Romantic Homes so elegantly encompasses, even at a young age. I grew up reading these magazines but I never thought I would be in one. Words cannot describe how truly honored and humbled I am to be able to be in February's issue under the blogger sight-seeing section. I have a secret dream that I could somehow in a very small way, inspire those around me to create because I love it with all my heart. I am one step closer to that dream and I am so very thankful.

Months back I was contacted by Beth Livesay, who oversees the sight seeing section of the magazine and my jaw dropped to the floor. I was so ecstatic, I had to take a deep breath and pinch myself to make sure the moment was real. My mother had just suffered a massive brain aneurism and I was on my way in to her hospital room to see her when I got the email. My mom loves Romantic Homes and has for as long as I can remember. I think its even safe to say its her favorite magazine of all time. She was still in the ICU and when I told her, I could see her face light up. It was just what we both needed to lift our spirits.

I am often reminded of why I love to do all of this silly crafting stuff in moments like these because the burning passion and happiness I feel fuels me through difficult times. It helps me overcome any  struggles I have faced in my life.

I am so grateful for those who have taken a chance on me, those who have followed not just my blog but my crafting journey and all of those who have given a stay at home mother a chance express her passion and joy by creating things and writing about it.
