In case you weren't already aware...I'm obsessed with pillows! ;) I have an entire board dedicated to pillows on Pinterest...true story. So when I came across this one:

My heart skipped a beat. What is not to love about this pillow?! The mustard yellow color, the richness of the velvet, the creme ribbon detailing...its perfect! I wanted to recreate it but I soon realized after searching for mustard yellow velvet for weeks that it just wasn't going to happen.

However, this pillow got me thinking and I wondered if there were any more like it with the creme ribbon detailing. That is when I discovered Caitlin Wilson. Behold...

Her textiles are brilliant! But alas... the pillows are around $45-60 bones on her website and I just couldn't justify it (not that your pretty pillows aren't worth it Caitlin ;) ). As I started looking at these  pillows I realized, they might not be so difficult to make.

So I got to work trying to recreate it, doubting myself a little in the process and then finally finishing with this:

I made my own white ribbon out of a light weight 7 oz white canvas, hemmed it, measured, placed and pinned it onto the pillow. I then sewed it all in place. :)

I think it may just be my favorite pillow sitting on my couch. :)

Hope you all had a pleasant Sunday! :)
